Steve Alexander is an author, visionary, ministry leader, and retired telecommunications professional whose life’s work has been shaped by faith, service, and a deep concern for underserved communities.
After graduating from GTE-Sylvania Tech School, Steve spent 32 years in the telecom industry, where he gained firsthand experience in business, infrastructure, systems, and leadership. That background later became part of a much larger vision: using economic systems not only for profit, but for restoration.
For 28 years, Steve has also been active in Christian ministry. His ministry work has included teaching in prisons, mentoring, and working with inner-city children in some of America’s largest cities. These experiences helped shape his understanding of poverty, incarceration, broken opportunity, and the urgent need for community-centered solutions.
Steve’s message is rooted in one powerful belief: people are not powerless. Communities can rise when they recognize the value of their choices, their money, their faith, and their unity.
Steve Alexander writes from both lived experience and spiritual conviction. In Economic Leadership, he speaks about the pain of historical injustice, the lasting impact of segregation, and the need for a new kind of leadership. His goal is not simply to criticize broken systems, but to offer a vision for rebuilding.

Steve is also a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, Joanne Alexander, who has walked beside him through his journey of work, faith, business, and family life.
Joanne Alexander brings her own history of entrepreneurship, creativity, and service. She owned her first business, Joanne’s Wig Shop, in Bunnell, Florida, for more than 20 years. She later owned Salt and Pepper Restaurant in Flagler Beach, Florida. Her work also included designing and sewing dresses for women and children across the state of Florida.
Her life reflects hard work, creativity, and dedication—values that stand closely beside Steve’s message of responsibility, purpose, and community strength.
Together, Steve and Joanne have emphasized the value of hard work to their children. Their three sons work in the telecommunications industry, and their daughter works in the pet care industry. Steve is also a grandfather to eleven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren.
Steve Alexander is also a contributing author to the bestseller Million Man March Atonement, where he wrote about building a network based on his experiences running Alexander Telecom.
Today, his mission continues through Economic Leadership. He believes he has been called to help rebuild inner cities, barrios, and Native American reservations, and to encourage unity in a divided nation and world.
His message is clear:
